How has training at Elite helped you become the person you were meant to be?

Elite has helped me return to what feels like my old self again. About a year ago I suffered a bad back injury that resulted in nerve damage and inevitable surgery. Recovery was rough and I honestly had thrown in the towel for all athletics. But my wife encouraged me to reach out to Samson and get back in touch with Elite. In just six months of being back in the gym, my mobility has increased and leg weakness and numbness have significantly decreased. I think what I love most about Crossfit and Elite, is the focus on functional fitness. For someone in my circumstance, the programming has helped improve my quality of life. I still have a long road ahead but I know I’m on the right track.

What adventures, events, trips, races do you have planned?

My wife and I are welcoming our first child in 2019! That’s honestly the only adventure I’ve had on my mind since I found out we were pregnant.

What would you do and where would you go if time / money were not object?

I’d probably play golf at the nicest courses around the world, that or go camping at some exotic destination. But then again, I’d probably just do what I’m doing now, except maybe with fancier beer.

Goals

Fitness

Continue my recovery. Mobility is still top of the list for me but weigh loss is a pretty close second.

Professional

Keep progressing in my company and field of profession.

Personal

Be the best husband and father I could be.

Something that most people don’t know about me:

I was a newspaper sports reporter in my previous professional life. I covered everything from football to basketball and volleyball, mostly at the collegiate level.
