How has training at Elite helped you become the person you were meant to be?
Elite has helped me get my inner athlete back. I have always been active, but not one to work out consistently. When I turned 40 I decided to take up running and over a period of several years I trained and run several half marathons. I enjoyed the way I felt and the challenge of pushing myself when I was training. Fast forward 8 years-I stopped running and really wanted to do something to challenge myself again and regain that good feeling running had given me. Training at Elite has given me that feeling of challenge and accomplishment plus I have regained that great overall feeling you get when you exercise regularly.
What adventures, events, trips, races do you have planned?
My biggest adventure right now is getting my youngest off and settled for his first year at Texas Tech and then adjusting to an empty nest! And I turn 50 in November so I am sure there will be some adventures that will accompany the celebration of conquering half a century!
What would you do and where would you go if time / money were not object?
I would travel-there is so much to see and experience. I would like to incorporate service and giving back into those adventures.
Fitness-continue my Crossfit journey-toes to bar and double unders are the next skills on my list to conquer.
Professional-continue guiding my team on our journey as the City of San Marcos continues to experience rapid growth and we have to figure out how to provide services and infrastructure to support that growth.
Personal-adjust to the new normal of not having life revolve around kids and kid activities.
Something that most people don’t know about me:
I was an exchange student in High school and lived in Brazil during my junior year. It is such a beautiful country and i want to visit it again as an adult-my teenage self did not fully appreciate the opportunity.
